Tradeprint, a Dundee-based printer of small and large format products has joined forces with FESPA UK, an association of wide-format digital, textile, industrial and specialist printers. This partnership comes after Tradeprint’s recent purchase of large format printer Tayprint further underpinning its commitment to UK print manufacturing.
FESPA UK’s network of like-minded professionals provides support and assistance in a non-biased way to all of its members regardless of competitor status. Highlights of the programme include access to education, training, technology, and innovation all tailored to specialist printers within the UK.
Of particular interest to Tradeprint is FESPA UK’s position on printing and the environment at large. Tradeprint, owned by parent company Cimpress, is committed to mitigating its environmental impact by following an emissions reduction program to lower direct and indirect emissions, leading to Net Zero by 2040.
All members of FESPA UK make a pledge to the overarching Reconomy Commitment set out by the organisation. Reconomy refers to a circular economy model whereby fewer raw materials begin a product journey leading to less waste and fewer emissions with the onus being on recycling, renewing and reusing as much as possible. To that end there are several objectives to hit such as introducing new media that can be more easily recycled, committing to educating employees, implementing, or sustaining a waste hierarchy, and performing consistent annual waste reviews:
“We are excited to work collaboratively with FESPA UK as we already do with Two Sides to foster a positive approach to sustainability and to dispel myths and greenwashing tactics within printing. I hope to be able to impart roadmaps and learnings from my leadership of the BPIF Environmental Forum and I further hope that our team of printing experts will be able to work collaboratively with other FESPA UK members to strengthen and support the UK printing industry.”
