Why Choose Correx Board Printing?

Why Choose Correx Board Printing?

Here are the advantages we see when choosing Correx for printed signage:

  • Lightweight but rigid – You don’t need heavy-duty supports, but the board still holds its shape.
  • Printed directly – Graphics are printed directly onto the board, so you get vivid, durable results.
  • Flexible thickness options – You can get Correx in different thicknesses depending on your needs.  We offer 3.5 & 5mm
  • Indoor and outdoor suitability – Because of its water resistance and structure, Correx works well both inside and outside.
  • Customisation – You can choose to add drill holes, or cut to shape, provided you follow the cut-path guidelines.
  • Recyclable – Polypropylene is more recyclable than many plastics, so Correx can be a more sustainable choice. Your most sustainable option for signage is going to be unlaminated cardboard, however, this isn’t going to work for outdoors unless you’re guaranteed sunshine.

Tips for Ordering and Designing Correx Boards

Here are some practical tips we always share when placing a Correx board printing order when you choose to design from scratch.

  • Artwork set-up: Use CMYK colours for your artwork
  • Avoid overlapping elements as these can bleed in production. Leave at least 1mm between elements.
  • File format: Supply your designs in PDF to make things simpler.
  • Resolution: Aim for good quality resolution (ideally 150dpi or more) to ensure sharp graphics.
  • Keep font weights to a minimum of 18pt and line weights a minimum of 2pt
  • Cut-to-shape: If you want custom shapes, include a continuous vector cut path in your artwork and ensure you meet the minimum design guidelines (e.g. radius, width Check the rigid board cut-to-shape guide.  This was compiled by our in-house PrePress team to help unpack the best way to efficiently provide custom cut boards for print.
  • Mounting: If you need to drill holes (for hanging), pick those options on the product page and design around them. Drill holes are 5mm wide and placed at either 30 mm from the edge if all edges are longer than 400mm, and 15 mm if any side is less than 400mm
  • Quantity: Even though Correx is cost-effective, check if bulk ordering gives you better rates if you need many boards. Correx gives you flexibility without breaking the bank.

"For anyone looking for a lightweight, durable, cost-effective signage solution, Correx board printing is an excellent choice. When you’re in doubt over temporary signage, think Correx and decide if it’s the right aesthetic.  If not, Foamex boards are another alternative for temporary signs, as these also work well both indoors and outdoors as temporary signage solutions."
