A Quarter Century of Web To Print

Tradeprint's 25th Birthday!

Celebrating A Milestone In Web To Print on Our 25th Anniversary

Tradeprint turns 25, celebrating a quarter-century milestone on 14th January 2022.

Born under the trading name Fairprint in 1997 the company has expanded and grown throughout those 25 years culminating in winning the prestigious PrintWeek Company of the year award in 2015, closely followed by its acquisition by the Cimpress group in July 2015 and the subsequent merger with Exaprint UK the following year.

From simple beginnings in the 90’s saw the business focussing on small format printing for the trade as a relatively simple proposition outputting less than 30 jobs per day with selling prices 10x higher than they are today! There was once a time when 500 business cards were considered a bargain at £99! As the years have progressed investment in large scale printing machinery and embracing digital printing, paperless workflows and automated file checking tools, not to mention the radical website re-platforming in 2017, has shaped Tradeprint into the e-commerce business you know today.

In recent years the company has cemented its position as a quality printer for the times with the appointment of Charlene Joss in November 2018 making it a female-led company. Her financial acumen and her strong leadership team have successfully manoeuvred the company through the turbulent pandemic era and has strengthened its position in the market today.

Anthony Rowell, Director of Customer Success since April 2017 has made a lasting impression in applying mid to long term environmental policies aimed at cutting our carbon footprint. His appointment as Chair of the BPIF Environmental Forum and years taking an active interest in the impact of sustainability within the industry puts Tradeprint in a strong position to move forward responsibly. Tradeprint has FSC® Chain of Custody and has partnered with Two Sides, a print & paper packaging advocacy group.

Making web-2-print accessible has always been a priory to Tradeprint and in recent months the business has launched a Drop Shipping model as a print on demand offering to allow small to large scale print resellers to flourish with easy ordering and fulfilment using Tradeprint’s systems. This goes a step further with the implementation of the Tradeprint API which allows white labelled product manufacturing to be integrated into many of our customers’ own e-commerce platforms where products can be personalised and customised with designs and logos and fulfilled by Tradeprint.

Tradeprint is proud to serve its loyal print professionals and offer them the advantages of the latest colour management technology, large scale mass customisation and our Tradeprint PRO trade loyalty incentive scheme loaded with rewards and benefits tailored for professionals.

Future plans include an extension to double the current factory floor space to make room for all our shiny new machinery (birthday presents!) and a brand refresh (to make us look ten years younger!)
